To remove shading, choose the No Color item in the Fill section and choose the Clear style in the Patterns section (if it is necessary) on the Shading tab. How was this background color created? Thanks. To remove only some border, you can click in this border in the Preview section on the Borders tab. I know I can go in and manually retype the text, but that's a pain. More importantly, it's kind of distracting, so I'd like to remove it.
This feature is nice, and I'd like to be able to use it. It looks as though someone 'Selected' the text (which normally would turn the text background black, and the text white, of course), then did something to turn that background red. The document looks the same regardless of whether I am in final-showing-markup or final. I am looking, in Word 2002, at a document that has several words and letters 'highlighted.'
